About

Welcome… This blog is dedicated to all those who have been affected by the premature birth of a baby; past, future or present. No one can prepare you for the impact a little premmie will bring to your life, it’s a one step forward, two step backwards journey at times and there are moments when you can use all the help you can get. A spin off from the All About Prems online support group, with over 3,000 members, this blog adds another place for people living the premmie journey to turn to, regardless of what stage you are in. Written by the parents, friends and family members of premature babies, we hope you find something to brighten your day and give you hope when you need it. Someone once told me that “the premmie journey is so very tough, it can be unbearable at times, it will change you forever but it’s so very worth it”. Where ever you are on the premmie journey, before, during or after birth, we wish you all the love and best wishes possible, you’ll be amazed constantly and forever at how incredible your miracle prem really is!

If you have a story you’d like to share please let us know as we’d love to share your stories too!

Alyssa: Hi! I had my twin baby girls at 24+0 in May 2016! Shortly after their birth, our first born sadly grew her wings. Her surviving twin sister spend the next 115 days in the NICU and, like many of our prems, defied the odds and thrived. We went on to have another baby girl in December 2017 and thankfully we were blessed with a full-term rainbow baby this time round.   My email is alyssa@allaboutprems.com

Rhiann: Hi, I’m Rhiann – mum of Isabelle (Itty) who was born at 28 wks and 1 day weighing 656g. Itty spent 77 days in hospital and has continued to thrive since being born suddenly and far too soon! I am expecting baby number 2 in the next 6 weeks and hoping to make it to term this time! My email address is rhiann@allaboutprems.com
